Today, i was cleaning up my book rack, thinking of putting my last sem's course notes in the lower compartment, since i'm not goin to use it anytime soon.=)..
Then when i took out Module 6 course notes, it reminds me of an incident that happened not long ago. it happens like this, from the start of the sem, we were given 3 books, so we studied it as usual for the whole sem. But, when i was preparing for the EASA exam, i looked into the syllybus that was coming out for exam, and i notice that we havent cover the bearings, pipes and unions and cables throughly, i looked into the course notes and couldnt find it. So as my last resort, i just took all the basic notes from my lecturers slide and studied that. i know that wasnt enough, but i just cross my fingers before i went into the exam hall.
Well, as the chinese always said, ' good things doesnt come, bad things will come' *dont know whether if that's the correct translation*..XD..almost 20 questions out of 72 questions i dont know how to solve, which could almost immediatly assumed that i failed this paper..=(..after i came out from the exam hall, i could see that i'm not alone in this matter. a lot of my course mates also dont know how to solve which is mostly bout the chapters i mentioned.
All of us was thinking, might there be a fourth book that the college forget to give us? is it because of them that contributes to our failure? this questions keep on buzzing in my mind..
About 4 days later, i was asked by the HOD of DAIR to get the course notes for Basic Hydraulics And Pneumatic System. While i was looking for it in the mac centre, there was a lot of course notes lying around, and one of the course notes caught my attention.
I couldnt help it but take a look in the content, and this answered the question i had in my mind..There IS a fourth book, this book basically covered all the chapters that include bearings, pipes and unions and cables.

I went and find the HOD to ask him about it, from this point, i'll refer him as Mr. K.
L : Sir, there's something bout the Material and Hardware course notes that i need to talk to you about.
Mr. K : ok, what is it?
L : just now when i was in the Mac centre, i found out that my batch was not given all the course notes, there's an additional book that's missing, and now the junior get to have it while me nd my batch mates didnt get it and went for the easa exam.
Mr. K : Well, you see here, if the lecturer of that particular subject are lack of certain course notes, he have to tell me about it and i'll do something bout by calling the UK people..and as far i know, no lecturers have spoken to me about it. and i cant take care all the subjects, the lecturers have to do it, they were not hired to just stand here, talk then go home sleep, they have to do research and prepare enough notes for the students. *he's starting to get annoyed and trying to make himself looks like the good guy*
L : so sir, if that's the case, what do u plan to do about it?
Mr. K: Well, i'll try to find out what's the problem and i'll get back to you later.
*end of conversation* do u see how smart he is? talk all those stuffs making us couldnt question anything bout him? and eventhough he said he'll get back to me, he didnt.
There's a second conversation involved with the lecturer of the subject but i'll just give u a summary as i'm lazy to type it out..XD..
when i asked him bout it, he straight away told me that he told Mr. K earlier bout it that there's insufficient course notes and blah blah..
what i was thinking bout that time, is that if he were to know that there's a fourth book, isnt he doing something wrong by not telling us bout it? it's like giving us a push while we are crossing a narrow bridge over the grand canyon. without the book, we are almost 95 percent comfirmed failing, i'll leave the 5 percent to luck..=P..and it's not cheap to resit..=S..RM400..zzz..

X 8
yup, u read that correctly and i didnt type wrongly.. total 8 piece of RM 50..=S..
After that incident, i asked a lot of advices from some friends and certain forums, the best replied i gotten is this :
'well nothing is impossible bro all you need to do is refer to the official journal of the European union syllabus guide and from there you can see wht are the topic you need to cover and when u hove done that go and explore with some books you can find in the library .. as a trainee we need to work hard at times don't be depending so much on your institute notes the more you explore the more knowledge you can gain.'
after reading that, it's like someone just knock me in the head, and i realize that it's not ok to just rely on the course notes, we have study and research more on our own to enhance our knowledge and make ourselves more equipped before going to work on the aviation field.=)..
so if i really did failed and have to pay the RM 400 to resit, i'll gladly pay and take it as a lesson..which prove to me how much i rely on the coursenotes.=)
So guys, remember, even if the roads are there, you have to make an attempt to walk those roads, do not expect someone to come and give you a ride. At the end of the day, it all depends on your own effort. =)
cheers~~
